This summer, the Windy City takes rooftop dining to new heights with a slew of contemporary concepts that reflect Chicago's culinary talent and distinct neighborhoods including the Fulton Market District, Navy Pier, The Loop and Old Town. Ready to check out some of the best Chicago rooftop bars and restaurants? Here are four to put on your must-visit list:
Offshore Rooftop & Bar at Navy Pier
The nation's largest rooftop venue, Offshore Rooftop & Bar, recently opened on the third floor of iconic Navy Pier's Festival Hall. This 36,000-square-foot venue is open all seasons, offering a full-service luminous bar and world-class kitchen. The 20,000-square-foot outdoor Terrace offers unmatched views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline, while cozy fire pits and entertaining and gaming areas provide large gathering spaces for social and corporate events. Executive Chef Michael Shrader, a prot�g� of California-cuisine pioneer Jeremiah Tower, leads the culinary team.
While you're in the area... take a sightseeing cruise around Navy Pier, enjoy the bi-weekly fireworks display and celebrate the Year of Chicago Theatre by catching a performance at The Yard at Chicago Shakespeare.
The Nobel at St. Jane Chicago
Coming this summer to the St. Jane Chicago hotel, home to the exclusive Tower Rooms & Suites, is The Nobel an intimate, indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge on the 24th floor which will boast dramatic skyline views of Michigan Avenue.

Coming Soon... Utopian Tailgate at The Second City
This August, Second City, Chicago's famous comedy club, is teaming up with Fifty/50 Restaurant Group to debut a new rooftop bar, Utopian Tailgate. Old Town's newest rooftop concept will be located above the Starbucks on the Northwest Corner of North Avenue and Wells Street, with its menu (in current development) helmed by head chef, and Alinea alum, Amber Lancaster. The rooftop includes a 3,500 square foot covered portion and 6,500 square feet of outdoor space.
