Watch: Elton John Says George Michael was 'Uncomfortable' with Being Gay

In an interview with Sharon Osbourne for "The Talk," Elton John said he believed the late George Michael was "uncomfortable" with his sexuality.
The two, who are friends and were friends with the pop star, opened up about Michael's life, saying he "didn't want to live" anymore in the days leading up to his death in 2016 and that he struggled to accept his sexuality.
In the interview, John said he tried to help Michael with his battles with addiction and his time in rehab.
"He couldn't get it, George. And he resented the fact that I had hinted that maybe he change his life a little bit and he'd be happier if he tried something else," he said. "The person has actually got to want it. It's like me in the end; I really wanted it.
"I had two alternatives: one, to die, and one to live, and I wanted to live. But that's the difference if you want it, and poor George didn't want it," John added.
He also recalled the day Michael died on Christmas 2016 and calling Osbourne about his sudden passing.
"I remember talking to you the day he died...and Ozzy got on the phone, and he said, 'He didn't want to be here," John said of Osbourne's husband. "And I thought that's the most succinct apt thing: he didn't want to be here.
"He was so uncomfortable in his skin about being gay even though he said he wasn't," he added.
In recent John news, the singer responded to the "nasty" way Madonna reacted to Lady Gaga in 2012 after releasing her LGBTQ anthem "Born This Way" in his new tell-all memoir "Me."
