EVO3 Oils: From Bud to Bottle

It starts with seeds and soil. Grown organically in America, those seeds soon become big, healthy hemp plants. From farms in Arkansas, EVO3 Executive Vice President and Master Cannabinologer Cristina Madruga oversees the harvested hemp. If it passes testing for safety and high-CBD/low-THC potency, she and her team begin processing the crop by extracting "crude hemp" to distill.

Scientifically speaking, cool things happen next.

It may sound like a rainbow, but in this case, "full-spectrum" means that the distillate contains all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids (including trace THC molecules) in the hemp plant. It's the base of EVO3's full-spectrum oils.

"Some of the distillate goes through further purification, where all of the cannabinoids are separated from each other and the THC is removed," says Madruga. "So pure CBD goes into our broad-spectrum products."

Bottling the Best

Once the super-concentrated distillate is ready, EVO3 takes an extra step for a more complete CBD oil. It involves organic compounds called terpenes.

Though terpenes are commonly associated with cannabis plants, you also may know them from the familiar aromas and flavors they lend to lavender, basil, cinnamon, orange, pine needles, and many other plants.

Even better, terpenes bring health benefits that can help improve memory, relieve stress, and alleviate anxiety and pain.

But during the distillation process, the original hemp terpenes are lost. So Madruga has formulated EVO3's unique terpene blends that match the original molecules in Red Kross and T2 plants.

She then "rebuilds" the oils, with "the added terpene blend to bring our CBD oils closer to the original profile of the whole plant," she says. "We tend to get much more out of whole plants because our bodies process them more efficiently."

It's easy to appreciate the simplicity of EVO3's formula: Each bottle contains CBD distillate (full- or broad-spectrum), the terpene blend, and the neutral "carrier oil" MCT (extracted from coconut oil).

Better still, "terpenes help CBD enter the bloodstream more efficiently, increasing absorption," says Madruga.

"A good example of how this works is eating an orange versus taking a vitamin C capsule," she says. "Even though the capsule says it contains 1000 mg of vitamin C, your body will not absorb it all, and much of it is eliminated as waste.
