PopUps: Lana Del Rey Responds to College Paper Over Mesh Mask
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Not long after Lana Del Rey made headlines for telling off a fan who suggested she voted for Donald Trump during the 2020 presidential election, the "Ride" singer is again garnering attention – this time, for responding to a college newspaper over her choice of face mask.
In October, Del Rey came under fire on Twitter after photos surfaced of her at a book signing event where she wore a mesh face mask, similar to the one that she wore on the cover of Interview magazine where fans called her out, Page Six notes.
Del Rey broke her silence on Tuesday, responding to a tweet from The Michigan Daily, the newspaper for University of Michigan, which published a story called "Lana Del Rey wore a mesh mask. Now What?" about the singer being "canceled." In her tweet, she said her mask had plastic on the inside.
"Great article. The mask had plastic on the inside. They're commonly sewn in by stylists these days. I don't generally respond to articles because I don't care. But there ya go. Same goes for everyone's masks in my video. I'm lucky enough to have a team of people who can do that," she tweeted.
She then went on to address other controversies, including her song lyrics as well as who she voted for.
"Again not that I believe it's anyone's business at all-but I made it clear who I voted for. And I don't glamorize tough relationships. Relationships can just be tough. Period. Every other singer sings about the same damn thing. Always have, Probably always will. Thanks stay tuned."
