Watch: British Soccer Player Banned for Grabbing Opposing Player's Crotch

A British soccer player "who grabbed an opponent by the genitals during a game will be banned after being charged with violent conduct by the Football Association," reports The Insider.

The inappropriate behavior took place during the EFL Championship match last Saturday between Preston North End and Sheffield when "Preston North End defender Darnell Fisher twice grabbed the crotch of Sheffield Wednesday's Callum Paterson, who he was marking at a corner kick," the Insider writes.

Paterson attempted to get the attention of the referee, but failed. Fisher then grabbed Paterson's genitals a second time. While the ref missed witnessing both infractions, surveillance cameras recorded the action.

"It is alleged that an incident during the 62nd minute, which was not seen by the match officials at the time but caught on camera, constitutes a breach of FA Rule E3. The defender has until 24 November to provide a response to the charge," writes The Guardian.

This wasn't the first time such behavior has occurred in British sports. "England rugby player Joe Marler was banned for 10 weeks earlier this year when he was caught fondling Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones' privates," reported The Independent. "While St Helens' Tommy Makinson was also suspended in Super League for five matches in August after clutching Castleford's Liam Watts' genitalia."
