COVID Rules Dish Up McDonald's at London Gay Club, Patrons Mock Online

Saturdays at London's Heaven Nightclub are getting a little happier - at least, the meals are. New COVID rules say bars must serve "substantial meals" with drinks, and McDonald's is partnering with the club for its Saturday night "G-A-Y" events.
Pinkews reports that "owner Jeremy Joseph" has announced "that the famed haunt will partner with McDonald's in order to resume its regular Saturday night activities on 5 December."
The requirement is part of a new three-tier system of COVID response in Britain. UK newspaper The Guardian explained that the new rules, which take effect next month, also require last call at 10 pm, with bars and clubs closing at 11:00 pm.
The partnership of LGBTQ venue and global fast-food brand led some patrons to "commend" the move, PinkNews reported, while others "bemoaned" it.
Commendations were in scarce supply, however, as club patrons and others took to Twitter to poke fun at the idea of serving McDonald's at a gay bar, PinkNews shared.
