Marvel has confirmed that Chris Pratt's "Guardians of the Galaxy" character, Star Lord – also known as Peter Quill – is bisexual, Mirror reports.
The comic book character was introduced in 1976, but was never top-tier for Marvel until 2014 when the first of the Pratt-starring "Guardians of the Galaxy" films debuted in theaters. That film grossed over $770 million, while its 2017 sequel earned more than $860 million. The third installment is slated for 2023. Also a compelling question is whether Pratt would play the character's bisexuality, given that the star is open about attending the problematically anti-LGBTQ Hillsong Church. In 2019, after an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in which Pratt discussed the virtues of his church (with no challenge from Colbert), actor Elliot Page confronted the actor on Twitter:
