Brooklyn Man Storms Capitol, Explains Why to New York Post

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The New York Post caught up with one of the protesters that stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday to ask him why he did it.

The Brooklyn man, dressed in a fur costume, said his reason was "the election was stolen."

Giving the Post his name as Aaron, he explained that Trump supporters were cheated. "I don't think 75 million people voted for Trump – I think it was close to 85 million.. I think certain states that have been red for a long time turned blue and were stolen, like New York."

Standing in a hall in the Capitol and holding a police shield he found, Aaron said that congressmen shouldn't fear the occupiers.

"[They] shouldn't be afraid; they should get the courage to do their duty to examine the fraud and maybe delay the election," said the protester, who was also wearing a bullet-proof police vest.

He added, "We [shouldn't] rewrite the law because of COVID. It's not 'Give me liberty or give me death' – but COVID."
