'RuPaul's Drag Race' Announces New Doc 'Corona Can't Keep A Good Queen Down'

VH1 has announced "RuPaul's Drag Race: Corona Can't Keep A Good Queen Down," a new documentary that followed the show as it filmed their 13th season in the middle of the pandemic, Out reports.

In a statement, Viacom, which owns VH1, said, the stand-alone episode "captures the raw emotions surrounding the extraordinary experience; from the combination of hope and anxiety of the early days, to creative challenges prepping and executing the show, and an ultimate sense of celebration and gratitude.

"In the face of a global pandemic that shutdown film and television production around the world, the resilience and ingenuity of this season's queens made herstory as one of the very first productions to be shot in the age of [the pandemic]."

The documentary shows how the cast and crew had to adapt with new safety measures, and also features new interviews with queens, behind-the-scenes footage, and casting reels. It was also a particularly noteworthy season for its inclusion of the show's first trans masculine performer Gottmilk.

In a preview for the special, which airs on Friday Feb. 26 at 8pm ET/PT, queen Symone says "you thought 'Drag Race' was gonna go away? No darling!" and Kandy Muse offers "I've been tested, my hands are washed, I've been quarantined."
