Suitsupply Interprets 'Tongue in Cheek' Literally in New Ad Campaign

Venerated fashion brand Suitsupply unveiled a new ad campaign this week that has, once again, set the internet ablaze, according to Esquire.

The ad features people in various states of dress – though mostly undress – their bodies writhing, mouths open, and licking one another. There's no question it's a captivating image that has compelled social media responses, some humorous, some disgusted, and some a little of both.

Esquire points out, however, that Suitsupply's new ad campaign is remarkably decent in its integration of straight and same-sex couples, with "near-nudity across gender lines," and that "the face-licking looks consensual."

In a statement to Esquire, Fokke de Jong, founder and CEO of Suitsupply, humorously – or, tongue firmly in cheek, shall we say? – reframed the ad, saying, "the campaign is simply a positive outlook on our future where people can get back to gathering and getting close."
