'Glee' Star Naya Rivera's Father Blasts Ryan Murphy on Twitter, Claims 'Broken Promises'

The father of late "Glee" star Naya Rivera blasted Ryan Murphy on Twitter in a series of tweets that alleged "broken promises" on Murphy's part, PEOPLE Magazine reports.

"Naya's father, George Rivera, posted several tweets on Tuesday, suggesting that Murphy did not reach out to the family and has not followed up on his commitment to providing a college fund for Naya's son Josey," PEOPLE said.

The posts from George Rivera commenced March 9 in response to a tweet from last July that made reference to Murphy having said that he would set up a college fund for the actor's young son, Josey.

Rivera then posted, "Get the glee tweeters on this!!!!"

Later, Rivera added another tweet that spoke of "Promises made in public, only to fade with time and excuses" and said, "When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are 'less than' ...."

Rivera added: "Broken Promises..... fake outrage .... hollow gestures ..... no phone call."

"About an hour later, Murphy responded to the claims, stating that he, Falchuk and Brennan are still 'committed' to creating the college fund," PEOPLE reported.

A rep for Murphy contacted ET with a similar statement, the publication reported, that "the Glee creators have been in contact with the actress' estate to move forward with creating a college fund for her son."

Naya Rivera, 33, died last July. She and Josey, who was four at the time, had taken a rented boat out on a lake in Southern California. News reports said Rivera had saved Josey by helping him get back into the boat, but that she then had drowned.

Murphy and "Glee" co-creators Brad Falchuck and Ian Brennan issued a joint statement after Naya Rivera's death, praising her work on the show and announcing the creation of a college fund for Josey.
