Prolific TV producer Ryan Murphy is bringing serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to Netflix - and he's bringing a few friends into the project with him, Variety reports.

The series, "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," is produced by Murphy and Ian Brennan.

Longtime "American Horror Story" actor Evan Peters will star in the title role, with "Scream Queens" alum Niecy Nash as Glenda Cleveland, the neighbor of Dahmer who reported the killer's odd behavior to police...though to no avail.

Variety noted other high-profile actors are also signed, such as Penelope Ann Miller and Richard Jenkins as Dahmner's parents.

" 'Monster' tells the story of Dahmer through the eyes of his victims, and examines Dahmer's white privilege and the law enforcement involved with a critical lens," the Variety piece details, "depicting at least 10 times that Dahmer was apprehended by police but not prosecuted."

Variety reports "Carl Franklin is set to direct the pilot episode of the 10-episode limited series, and Janet Mock will write and direct several episodes.

"Franklin and Mock are executive producers along with Murphy and Brennan, and David McMillan will write and serve as supervising producer."

Murphy, currently in a five-year deal with Netflix, has co-created or developed several series for streamer, including two seasons of the satirical comedy "The Politician," which stars Ben Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow; "Ratched," a prequel to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" starring Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, and Charlie Carver; and "Hollywood," an alternate-history comedy-drama starring David Corenswet, Patti LuPone, Jeremy Pope, and Jake Picking, in which Rock Hudson comes out of the closet in the 1950s, even as non-Caucasian actors press for more meaningful and authentic roles.

Murphy is co-creator of the acclaimed FX series "Pose," which recently wrapped production on its upcoming third and final season.
