"Pose" breakout star Angelica Ross has landed her dream role in the upcoming season 10 of Ryan Murphy's "American Horror Story."
Titled, "American Horror Story: Double Feature," the new season of the FX horror anthology series will be split up into two stories. Ross will be featured in the first story, reported Entertainment Weekly (EW).
For her part, Ross was instructed by Murphy to wear her natural hair, and the opportunity affirmed her identity as a Black woman more than ever, she said.
"That's why I feel the most beautiful in this role," she tells EW. "They are doing things with my natural hair that just really affirms me as a Black woman and I think is going to affirm other Black women who watch the show that see other characters who don't wear wigs and who wear natural hair textures – and short hair at that. I think it's going to be beautiful, and I can't wait for the audience to see it."
Next, audiences can see Ross in "Pose" season 3 and a few more Murphy-led projects that she can't quite talk about yet. But she is excited to be a "busy" actress.
"I am going to be busy all year," Ross teases. "I ended up biting the bullet and getting an apartment out here [in Los Angeles] because I'm going to be out here so long."
The premiere date for "American Horror Story: Double Feature" has yet to be announced. But the show boasts a superstar list of actors, including Sarah Paulson, Macaulay Culkin, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, and, recently announced, Paris Jackson.
