Watch: No Longer Gay, Milo Yiannopoulos Gets a Message from God

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

God works in mysterious ways, or so the saying goes. Offering his cock-eyed proof of that statement is ex-gay, ultra-conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos with his own divine sign.

Yiannopoulos appeared in an interview on the conservative social media Gab with two co-hosts on a show called TruNews, where he seemed to be channeling Brad Pitt. Right Wing Watch tweeted a video with the text: "Milo Yiannopoulos says that as soon as he became 'ex-gay,' dogs stopped barking at him, which he believes is a sign from God."

In the clip, Yiannopoulos says: "When I made my announcement, the first thing that happened, which will make you laugh, but it's true: dogs stopped barking at me. I am one of those people, you know, everyone's got that friend that dogs always go nuts around, definitely with a stranger to pets."

Making things even more awkward, one of the two hosts pointed out that his dog had never barked at Yiannopoulos before or after his self-imposed exercise in conversion therapy, which he dismissed with the crack, "So, you must have some work left to do.

He then continued: "I was always one of those.. this sounds so stupid, but this is just how I think that God reveals Himself to us, right. This is just my experience of it. I was somebody who, invariably, without exception, always used to make dogs go crazy."

He continued with an anecdote: "We have a friend who's a political candidate down here right, and her campaign manager has two of these little yappy dogs, and they would not stop. I couldn't be in her house more than 20 minutes because it would drive everybody crazy. Even growing up we hadAlsatians, we have black Labradors. They just didn't like me at all."

He concluded with: "The dogs aren't barking at me anymore and it happened almost overnight. Now they seem to quite like me, and it sounds it's the stupidest thing in the world. "

In March, Yiannopoulos announced he is an "Ex-gay" and "sodomy free," saying he has the gay itch but isn't going to scratch it. "I treat it like an addiction. You never stop being an alcoholic." Days later, he announced he is opening a gay conversion facility in Florida with which he hopes to "rebrand" the discredited practice. In May, he made a public display of his commitment to his new movement by throwing into the Pacific a $150,000 engagement ring he had purchased for a same-sex relationship in which he was involved.
