"Ciao, ciao, ciao!" That's likely to be the greeting as the newest installment of "RuPaul's Drag Race" – this one from Italy – streams at a date yet to be announced. "World of Wonder (WOW), the company that produces the hit show, announced Thursday (1 July) that the first season of Drag Race Italia will sashay onto Discovery Plus Italia and WOW Presents Plus," writes Yahoo! News.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the upcoming edition is the latest in RuPaul's march toward worldwide drag domination. The series' previous endeavors already include "Drag Race Thailand," Chile's "The Switch Drag Race," "RuPaul's Drag Race UK," "Canada's Drag Race," "Drag Race Holland," "Drag Race Down Under," "Drag Race España," and the American original (currently running its sixth season of "All Stars" on Paramount+).
"Last year, producers Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey told EW they were eyeing multiple new territories for possible Drag Race expansions, with more expected to be announced soon," writes EW.
In other "Drag Race" news, Yahoo! News has reported that "Canada's Drag Race" has announced three new judges for its elite panel, writing, "The announcement comes after former judge and model Stacey McKenzie was forced to bow out of season two due to COVID-related 'challenges.'
"The show revealed stylist Brad Goreski, 'The Handmaid's Tale' star Amanda Brugel, and resident 'Squirrel Friend' Traci Melchor would now be on the judging panel. The trio will join Drag Race season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes, who will remain on the panel."
