LGBTQ+ advocate and out pop star Miley Cyrus is reaching out to rapper DaBaby amid his ongoing controversy around anti-gay comments he recently made, which cost him several live gigs at music festivals, including Lollapalooza and the Governors Ball.

Taking to Instagram, Cyrus wrote a lengthy message, saying, "As a proud and loyal member o the LGBTQIA+ community, much of my life has been dedicated to encouraging love, acceptance and open mindedness."

"The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and this is the nucleus of cancel culture," Cyrus continued, adding that she believes the internet can be a place that is "filled with education conversation, communication & connection."

"It's easier to cancel someone than to find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hearts and minds," she said. "There's no more room for division if we went to keep seeing progress! Knowledge is power! I know I still have so much to learn!"

The "Prisoners" singer added a caption to her post as well where she directly mentions DaBaby.

"DaBaby check your DMS - would love to talk and see how we can learn from each other and help be part of making a more just and understanding future! For more info @greaterthanaids is a great resource!" she wrote.

Before offering his two apologies, DaBaby initially doubled down on his comments, resulting in singers like Madonna and Dua Lipa condemning the rapper.
