Newsmax Anchor Comes for Harry Styles...and Twitter's Not Having It

After hurling venom at Lil Nas X and Oreo cookies, Newsmax anchor Greg Kelly took aim at Harry Styles, dragging him for his Coachella appearance last weekend and declaring that a few years in the Marines would do him good.

Styles' fans clapped right back, however, responding with stills from Styles' role in Christopher Nolan's 2017 WWII film "Dunkirk," Papermag reported.

"Following Styles' epic performance at Coachella last weekend – complete with a custom rainbow Gucci jumpsuit – 'Anti-Fake News Conservative Phenomenon' Greg Kelly tweeted a picture of him, writing, 'I think Harry Styles would benefit from 3 years in the Marine Corps,' " Papermag detailed.

"What this has to do with his performance, his success, or his bearing on Kelly's life is beyond any fans' comprehension," the article added, before going on to say that Styles' fans rose to the singer's defense, trolling the 53-year-old military veteran with images of Styles in 1940s-era uniform and chiding him to show some "respect" for the "war hero."

Others simply pointed out that Styles' fashion sense is beyond reproach.

Kelly's gripe about Styles' style followed a similarly dismal attempt to stir up outrage over Lil Nas X's performance at the Grammy Awards.

Nas X, displaying his trademark humor, lost no time in responding.

When Oreo brand cookies posted a short film by lesbian independent filmmaker Alice Wu that was supportive of LGBTQ+ youth, Kelly took to Twitter once again with a post that social media users were quick to mock.

A second post from Kelly slamming Oreos fared no better.

Styles, meanwhile, is set to swap his WWII soldier's uniform for that of a 1960s bobby in the upcoming drama "My Policeman" – a film where, reportedly, the actor/singer is out of uniform at least some of the time, allowing his bare butt to steal a scene or two.
