EDGE Rewind: PopUps: Rocker Tommy Lee Surprises Fans with Full-Frontal Pic on Instagram

Tommy Lee gave his 1.4 million Instagram followers something to look at when he posted a nude full-frontal selfie Thursday.

The snap showed the tattooed Motley Crue drummer fully naked with nipple piercings and wearing jewelry with part of his face out of the frame. He captioned the post "Ooooopppsss." His penis is very visible and front-and-center in the pic.

TMZ reported that the post earned hundreds of comments, including one from his wife Brittany Furlan, who wrote, "OH MY GOD." The official Instagram account for the gay dating app Grindr also chimed in: "Wrong app, babe."

Lee, 59, followed up the x-rated snap, which had been posted for several hours, with another Instagram post of a vintage photo of a nude man standing in front of an elephant with text that reads "How do you breathe through that little thing??"

The Daily Mail said that while some fans had fun with the NSFW post, others were demanding it be removed from Instagram, which has a strict policy on nudity.

The post is no longer up on Lee's profile.

The drama comes not long after the Hulu series "Pam & Tommy" aired earlier this year, which told how Lee's infamous sex tape with ex-wife Pamela Anderson happened and the impact it had on them. Played by Sebastian Stan, Lee's penis was even a character in the show – voiced by Jason Mantzoukas.
