Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker Rails Against Pride, Feminism, Abortion & Biden. And Calls Taylor Swift his 'Teammate's Girlfriend'
READ TIME: 4 MIN.
"It is safe to say that over the years, I have gained quite the reputation for speaking my mind," began Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker in a commencement address at conservative Catholic Benedictine College last weekend.
"The three-time Super Bowl champion delivered the roughly 20-minute address Saturday at the Catholic private liberal arts school in Atchison, Kansas, which is located about 60 miles north of Kansas City," reported the Associated Press.
The bearded, three-time Super Bowl champ did not hold back on his opinions, in which he decried various "diabolical lies told to women" about topics including abortion, in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy, as well as President Joe Biden, according to USA Today.
According to the New York Times, he "referred to Pride Month, the events in June demonstrating inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community, as an example of the 'deadly sins' as he advocated for a more conservative brand of Catholicism."
"Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it," Butker said, "but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him."
In his 20-minute speech Butker criticized President Biden for his handling of the Covid-19 crisis and abortion, as well as questioning his commitment to Catholicism.
