Bette Midler Heading to Vegas for Caesars Palace Run

Bette Midler announced Thursday that she had signed a two-year contract between herself and AEG Live for a run at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where she will be the Colosseum's "resident artist." Midler's tenure at The Colosseum begins in February of next year.

"Get ready Vegas 'cause here I come!" Midler crowed. "Caesar's Palace will never be the same and to all those critics who have accused me of being 'tacky,' 'too much,' and 'over the top,' I say, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!"

Midler, also known as The Divine Miss M, plans on making her Vegas show her most lavish presentation to date, complete with Midler's horn section, called "Kiss My Brass."

AEG co-CEO and President of AEG Live / Concerts West John Meglen said, "All of us at AEG Live are ecstatic about working with Bette and look forward to the fin and success we are going to have together on this project." Caesars Palace bills itself as a top entertainment venue that has booked top talent for over 40 years. "Caesars Palace has set the standard for entertainment in Las Vegas," said Gary Selesner, Caesars Palace President, referencing productions featuring Elton John and Celine Dion. "Adding the inimitable Bette Midler to The Colosseum's family of entertainers adds yet another jewel to our crown."

Midler is slated to perform approximately 100 shows per year at the 4,100-seat Caesars Palace venue. The anticipated schedule has the show running five nights a week at 7:30 p.m., with Mondays and Thursdays off.
