Author Wally Lamb at The Music Hall in NH

On Thursday, December 18, Writers On a New England Stage welcomes to The Music Hall Wally Lamb, the bestselling author of She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True.

After a ten year hiatus, Lamb presents his new work of fiction, The Hour I First Believed.

As part of the Writers on a New England Stage evening, Lamb will discuss his novel and be interviewed by Laura Knoy, NPR veteran newscaster and host of New Hampshire Public Radio's The Exchange.

A question and answer session will follow; live music will be performed by the house band Dreadnaught.

With power and poignancy, The Hour I First Believed follows the story of a couple relocating from Colorado to Connecticut after the wife survives the traumatizing events of the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School . Once on the east coast, at the husband's family farm, she attempts to regain her footing while he begins to confront unexpected revelations from his family's past.

Lamb's previous works of fiction include #1 New York Times bestseller She's Come Undone and I Know This Much Is True which were both chosen to be selections for the Oprah Winfrey Book Club.

After its 1992 release She's Come Undone also landed on the USA Today, Los Angeles Times and Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists and was also named a notable book of the year by publications such as The New York Times Book Review and People Magazine.

At each Writers event, The Music Hall hosts local high school students selected by their teachers. The Music Hall also invites local book clubs to come for the evening and take part in a drawing to attend a backstage reception and book signing with the author.
