Denise Austin: Body Burn With Pilates And Dance
Aron Gold, Esq. READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Semi-painful Denise Austin tries so hard to get us to get off our duffs to burn calories and tighten our tummies. Does she set herself apart from the crowd of workout videos this season? Her Dance routine and standing pilates routines do nothing, but her mat pilates routine adds a level of intensity that may make it work it.
You may be wondering whom this Denise Austin person is. Not a clue, but according to Wikipedia, she was born in the 50's and still looks like a barbie doll. What makes her qualified to give us dance routines? Again, not a clue, but evidently she's a dancer and therefore, this means she's able to put out some sort of workout video.
What's included with this video are three separate routines: an easy dance cardio workout, an easy standing pilates workout, and a mat pilates workout. Each one allows you to learn the routine with instruction and then once you get used to it, you can choose to just watch with the music.
The dance routine isn't terribly special. You bop around with Denise in a clearly female-geared routine. Her backup dancers are particularly distracting in their hot pink outfits, making it even more forgettable. Will you break a sweat? Probably not. The standing pilates is a little bit more intense, but also fairly routine. Haven't we seen this all before?
The mat pilates is really the only outstanding portion of the DVD. It doesn't really warrant a complete buy, and is mostly forgettable like the rest. Leave poor old Denise by the wayside this holiday season and check out fitness On Demand instead.
