The epic battle that saw 1,500 Americans defeat 15,000 British, helping to end the War of 1812, will rage once more on the shores of Lake Champlain.   • The 7th Annual Cream Cheese Festival September 17 in Lowville. A favorite for cream cheese lovers everywhere, enjoy live music, the world's largest cheesecake, cream cheese bingo and more. This is a free event and includes local artist stands, a Children's Discovery Park and a cream cheese recipe contest.

  • Harvest Festival at Almanzo Wilder Farm September 24-25 in Burke. Have fun with the whole family and enjoy pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, 19th century games, a Civil War skirmish and more.

  • The Frederic Remington Arts Festival September 26-27 in Canton. Celebrate the life and works of artist Frederic Remington during this two day festival. Activities include historic walking tours, 5k run, farmer's market, live entertainment and children's activities.
