Tech Meets Fashion for The Smartwatch Project

A recent design contest partnership between Sony Mobile Communications and the London College of Fashion has resulted in a tech/fashion partnership.
The two forces partnered to challenge students to combine cutting edge tech with the latest fashion trends in a contest to design the most creative watch band for Sony's SmartWatch, a smartphone accessory that extends the power of your Android device straight to your wrist.
The winners of the contest, picked jointly by Facebook fans and the Sony SmartWatch team, were Claire Monique Scanlon and Dominique Taylor. Claire created a jacket and wristband designed specifically for fashion bloggers, whereas Dominique designed a dress and jewelry piece that could be used as a necklace or bracelet for avid clubbers.
A blog post takes you behind the scenes of the Sony SmartWatch project where Claire and Monique share the design process, how they presented their concepts to the Sony SmartWatch team in Sweden, and what makes their creative brains tick.
