NYPD Releases Photos of Suspects Wanted in Alleged Anti-Gay Attack

The New York Police Department is looking for three men in connection with the Jan. 1 assault on a gay man in the Gramercy Park area of Manhattan. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime, Metro.us reports.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. The victim, 27, whose name has not been released by police, and another 34-year-old man, were walking on 1st Avenue near 15th Street in Manhattan when they were accosted by a trio of men who allegedly shouted anti-gay slurs at the pair. The suspects then assaulted the 27-year-old, leaving a bruise on the side of his head.

Surveillance photos of the suspects have been released by police. They are believed to be white men in their 30s.

CBS New York reports that the case is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force.
