PopUps: Freddie Prinze Jr. :: Kiefer Sutherland = Biggest Drama Queen in Showbiz?
Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 2 MIN.
"24" star Kiefer Sutherland is apparently a really huge drama queen and "unprofessional" to work with - at least according to Freddie Prinze Jr.
Prinze, 38, is making the rounds this week after he revealed to ABC News that Sutherland was a nightmare to be around when he appeared on the Fox action show "24" back in 2010.
"I did '24,' it was terrible," he said. "I hated every moment of it."
He wasted no time and then threw Southerland under the buss.
"Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world," Prinze added. "That's not me talking trash, I'd say it to his face. I think everyone that's worked with him has said that."
Unsurprisingly, Prinze wasn't on "24" for very long. The experience even made Prinze question if he'd ever act again - just think, because of Sutherland's attitude Prize wouldn't have gone on to do the seminal roles on "Bones" and Lifetimes "Witches of East End." (Side note: He is ripped and looks amazing on "Witches of East End," so good for him)
"I just wanted to quit the business after that," Prinze said. "So, I just sort of stopped."
Though he didn't do too much after his "24" stint, the actor quickly realized that there is no avoiding unprofessional.
"I went and worked for Vince McMahon at the WWE for Christ's sake," he said. "It was a crazier job than working with Kiefer."
Prinze's remarks have made headlines this week, and Sutherland's rep and a Fox officials are both doing damage control, speaking out on the claims, as Just Jarred points out.
"Kiefer worked with Freddie Prinze, Jr. more than 5 years ago, and this is the first he has heard of Freddie's grievances," a rep for the actor said in a statement. "Kiefer enjoyed working with Freddie and wishes him the best."
An anonymous Fox officials told TMZ that Southerland was "nothing but professional during the run of the show and is beloved by cast and crew."
"It's so out of left field, 5 years later. We wouldn't have done another 24 if Kiefer were anything like Freddie described," the Fox exec added.
