APLA Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Oscars Party

AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) is rolling out the red carpet for "The Envelope, Please," an Oscar� viewing party at The Abbey Food + Bar in West Hollywood on February 22.

The 14th annual black-tie affair features a VIP cocktail reception, celebrity host Pauley Perrette of TV's number one show in the world, "NCIS," a seated dinner, and public party following the show.

For the past 14 years, The Abbey has played host to this event, which has raised nearly $2 million for APLA. APLA assists those living with HIV/AIDS through a variety of services, including primary medical care, behavioral health care, food pantry programs at 8 locations in L.A. County, and much more.

"I'm so happy to be able to host The Envelope, Please Oscar party again this year and to help raise much-needed money for APLA, which means they can continue to offer critically needed services for people with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County," Perrette said. "And what's more fun than watching the Oscars while drinking, eating good food while surrounded by great people?"

Alongside Perrette, celebrity guests who will be attending the event include Miranda Mayo ("Pretty Little Liars"), Heather McDonald ("Chelsea Lately"), Kenya Moore ("Celebrity Apprentice" and "Real Housewives of Atlanta"), and Frankie Grande ("Rock of Ages" on Broadway and "Big Brother"), among others.

"The Envelope, Please is not only a fun event, it's also an important one that helps us broaden the services we offer while continuing the fight against HIV/AIDS in our communities," said APLA CEO Craig E. Thompson. "Thanks to the support from The Abbey, sbe, and our generous corporate partners, we are able to ensure that the thousands of people in L.A. County who need help, get it."

AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) was founded in 1983 and is one of the largest nonprofit HIV/AIDS service organizations in the United States. APLA provides bilingual support to more than 6,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County annually and leadership on HIV/AIDS-related policy and legislation.
