Mark Your Calendars for 2016's Pink Lake Festival

The 8th annual Pink Lake festival in Velden on Lake Woerthersee in southern Austria was a great success and was well received by both the many first time attendees and returning loyal guests.

The date for the festival next year is now fixed. From August 25 - 28, 2016, Lake Woerthersee will again be pink!

More than 4,500 overnight stays and visitors from over 20 countries made the eighth Pink Lake International LGBT Festival in Velden on Lake Woerthersee in southern Austria again a successful event for the LGBT community.

"The most important thing for us is that the festival guests are happy, have a great time on Lake Woerthersee and return to visit again," says Roland Sint, CEO of the event organizer Woerthersee Tourismus. And this goal seems to have been achieved when one looks at the event participant market research, which shows that 90% of guests rate the overall Pink Lake event as being "Very Good / Good."

At the kick-off Almdudler Costume Party the Austrian singer Chris Bertl fired up the audience, and the group of traditional Austrian male dancers, Schuhplattler Almrausch Sattendorf, put on an entertaining and hilarious show few will ever forget. The new Pink Lake Roller Disco, held in the roofed, open-air ice Rink in Velden, was a funky and roaring success, with DJ James Munich creating the perfect disco-style atmosphere for guests to skate and dance the night away.

The Trojka Boat Cruise Party was one of the highlights of the festival - and again all guests this year waiting at the pier being able to board the two ships of the Woerthersee Shipping Company, to enjoy a rocking party, direkctly on Lake W�rthersee.

The Pink Lake Beach Club was again held in the SOL Beach Club Velden, which has not only an (almost) real sand beach, but also an oustanding menu for food and drinks. Here the festival participants have recharged their batteries in the late summer sun following the evening party events, and were able to win great prizes with fun beach games hosted by the events' much loved hostesses, drag queens Mataina & Melli.

Key findings from the Pink Lake Participant Market Research 2015:

� At least 22 nations were represented at the festival.
� 93% agree fully that "The region was well selected."
� 90% agree fully that it is "Convenient to reach the region."
� 90% of guests rated Pink Lake in 2015 as "Very Good / Good."
� 87% of guests say they will "Absolutely / Probably" be back!
