PopUps: Britney Spears Readying New Music, Working With Nicki Minaj?

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Britney season is approachin' y'all!

It looks like new music from the pop princess is on the horizon: Robin Leach of "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" reported in the Los Vegas Sun that Britney's new single is called "Make Me (Oooh)" and fans can expect a new sound from the singer.

A source told Leach the music video for the single is scheduled to start filming on April 18.

"The concept for the video is all set," the source told the newspaper. "The single and video will thrill fans because it's all new, totally different and somewhat unexpected. She's gone from pretty straightforward pop to a really interesting vibe with a lot of really cool stuff."

Leach initially took to Twitter over the weekend to reveal Brit's new music. But the Las Vegas Sun clarifies that "Make Me (Oooh)" and its music video will drop four weeks after the diva and her crew start filming. Britney's new album, which has yet been titled, will be out the following month, in June.

Other reports are surfacing this week alleging Britney will be working with Nicki Minaj on her "Britney Jean" follow up. Hollywood Life reports the woman are "looking to collaborate on a killer new single, the sexy twosome will also be appearing in a hot video together."

"Britney has reached out to Nicki and has sent her tracks to see if she would like to do a verse or rap on any of her new music," a source told Hollywood Life. "It is between two or three songs right now that Britney wants Nicki to be on. They just have to mutually select the perfect one for a future single and video."

Britney and Nicki toured together in 2011, with the rapper appearing on a remix of the pop performer's "Til the World Ends."

Late last year, Brit Brit revealed she was hitting the studio and working on new music, following up her eighth LP "Britney Jean." The "Toxic" singer posted a pic of her in the studio with rising songwriting duo Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels, who wrote hits for Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber and Gwen Stefani.

Idolator reported in February that Britney's manager Larry Rudolph said her ninth album was "80 percent done" and was inspired by R&B star the Weeknd. The website reports she's also worked wit DJ Mustard, BURNS and a number of other producers, but has been avoiding Will.i.am - many fans blamed the Black Eye Peas frontman for Spears' "Britney Jean" flop.
