Today on 'Megyn Kelly Today': Pole Dancing, Jesus & Soaked Nuts

READ TIME: 3 MIN.

Today on "Megyn Kelly Today," Megyn Kelly opened up her show explaining today's episode would be about happiness. Before that, she discussed President Trump's claims he's the only president to telephone gold star families and told a story about a man who says he's too fat to go to jail.

"You have to give him points for ingenuity!" Megyn joked. She later told another joke: "I've seen the prison bars," saying that being "too thin for prison" is a better defense, suggesting one can slip through the bars.

She then showed a video of an infant who got a cochlear implant hearing his mother's voice for the first time.

"That makes me tear up just watching it," she said.

Megyn then welcomed today's celebrity guest, Kathy Lee Gifford.

"This woman knows how to be in front of an audience," Kathy told Megyn.

They then talked about having lunch together and Megyn said "it led to three Tylenol this morning." Megyn also said she's now a corned beef and cabbage fan because of her Tuesday lunches with Kathy.

"This woman can EAT!" Kathy said, adding she recently "introduced" Megyn to lamb chops.

"She was dainty... I told her to PICK IT UP!" Kathy said of Megyn eating lamb chops.

They then discussed Kathy's new song "Save Jesus," which is about Kathy's late husband Frank Gifford. She performed the song on "Today" last week.

Megyn said the song is "number one on the Christian and gospel chart and number 10 on iTunes."

"I had my first hit record and its about Jesus," Kathy said.

Megyn attempted to change the topic to "talk about the news of the day," which was about pole dancing possibly becoming an Olympic sport.

"You're going to segue from Jesus to pole dancing?" Kathy asked Megyn.

"What would Jesus do?" Megyn asked.

Kathy said Jesus would love the pole dancer but "I don't think [pole dancing] is the best thing for humanity."

Megyn introduced the next segment by saying, "Coming up next: Who's hungry for avocado?!"

Dr. Oz came on "Megyn Kelly Today" and told her "this is an iconic studio...this was my studio."

"It's got good juju," Megyn said.

Dr. Oz then showed Megyn a giant fake artery to promote his new book "Food Can Fix It." After ripping up the giant fake artery, drilling holes in it and plastering it with "cholesterol," Megyn asked if the "cholesterol" was really dijon mustard.

"I don't think I'm ever going to eat dijon mustard again. Is that what that is?" Megyn asked Dr. Oz.

"No," Dr. Oz said.

Later, Dr. Oz showed off some good foods that can help fix your ripped up artery. Among those foods was nuts.

"I never leave home without nuts in my pocket," Dr. Oz said.

"I'm not even going to touch that that," Megyn said.

"I soak my nuts," Dr. Oz later added.

Megyn couldn't stop laughing.

Later in the segment, Megyn confessed she likes Skinny Pop. At one point, something made a noise off screen.

"Don't mind that, the camera is falling apart," Megyn said.

Dr. Oz told Megyn to eat an olive after having dessert because it will change the taste in your mouth and hopefully stop you from eating more sweets.

"I like that!" Megyn said. She then introduced the human interest story of the day, which was about a family who adopts children with disabilities. It was a sad and boring interview.

Later in the show, Megyn joined Dan Buettner, who calls himself an "expert on happiness."

Their conversation was strange and boring but Buettner later told Megyn the happiest place in America is Boulder, Colo.

"And it has nothing to do with weed!" she said.

As the show ended, she spoke with Kathy Lee and Hoda. They said actress Melissa Joan Hart was coming on their show.

"Love her. She's the bomb," Megyn said.

Megyn then surprised a fan with meeting Kathy Lee and Hoda. The woman, who was celebrating her 30th wedding anniversary, lost her mind and was visibly shaking.
