Governors Ball Drops DaBaby Following Homophobic Remarks

New York City's Governors Ball festival has dropped rapper DaBaby from headlining its event following the homophobic remarks he made at Rolling Loud in Miami last month, Pitchfork has reported.
The move comes not long after it was reported that Lollapalooza nixed him from playing their event for the same reason.
"Founders Entertainment does not and will not tolerate hate or discrimination of any kind," the festival wrote on Twitter in announcing DaBaby's removal from the show. "We welcome and celebrate the diverse communities that make New York City the greatest city in the world. Thank you to the fans who continue to speak up for what is right. Along with you, we will continue to use our platform for good."
Governors Ball will announce a replacement before the event takes place in September.
Before he was dropped by both festivals, DaBaby tweeted an apology for his "insensitive" comments about people living with AIDS and HIV. His apology came only after he was met with a barrage of backlash from fans and musicians alike who condemned his speech – his "Levitating" collaborator Dua Lipa among them.
