2022 Rewind: Watch: Does Colton Underwood Deserve a Gay Card? Andy Cohen Puts Him to the Test
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
EDGE is looking back at 2022 and we're resharing some of our favorite stories of the year.
Colton Underwood has been out for nearly a year now, so Andy Cohen tested him on his gay cultural knowledge Monday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."
The former "Bachelor," who famously came out on "Good Morning America" last April, was asked 9 questions by Cohen to test his gay pop culture quotient.
For the questions, Cohen said he polled 11 gay guys on the "Watch What Happens Live" staff. "Has there ever been anything less scientific?" he wondered. "11 gay guys, I say, on a rainbow of issues."
"Which Spider-Man would the gays rather have cast a web over their heart – Tobey Maguire Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland?" was the first question. Underwood scored by answering Tom Holland.
Underwood matched Cohen's 11 gays on the second question, but Cohen did not: "What are the gays worst at: Parallel parking or basic math?" Underwood answered "parallel parking," which agreed with the sample, while Cohen chose basic math.
They both dropped the next one. What's the fiercer accessory: A wide brimmed hat or a bandana?
They both thought bandana, when the 11 gays chose a wide-brimmed hat.
Underwood also couldn't nab who the 11 gays favorite singer was. Asked who was the reigning queen of pop between Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, he chose Grande, while the 11 gays chose Lady Gaga.
There was no question, though, which "Sex and the City" character that the gays identified with. Samantha being the answer across the boards.
The same was true of which funny lady the 11 gays thought funnier: Jennifer Coolidge or Amy Schumer, with "The White Lotus" star winning.
Next Cohen asked which the gays care less about, sports and cars, punctuating the question with: "Put on your thinking cap, Colton. You're gay now."
"It kills me to say so, but sports," answered Underwood, again agreeing with the 11 gays.
Cohen returned to pop music for the next question: "What are the gays more were looking forward to – new Rihanna music or the much delayed Chromatica Ball?" (The Chromatica Ball is the tour from Lady Gaga that recently announced dates for later this year.)
Underwood joined with the majority with The Chromatica Ball.
And lastly, perhaps because "Summer House" regular Danielle Olivera was on the show, Cohen asked Underwood which of the male personalities on the show he would make-out with in a pantry – Luke, Carl, Alex, Andrea or Kyle? He answered Luke, but the majority of the 11 gays leaned towards snuggling with Andrea.
But, in the end, Underwood scored six correct answers, which led Cohen to say: "Guess what everybody? He's gay!"
